So here are the Top Ten things I can’t stand right now…

10.  People who say “texas” instead of “texts.” Last time I checked there was no ‘A’ in “texts.”  THE END.

9.  The Blazer. Has this trend died yet?  If you are not going to work, church or some other function where you must be dressed business casual, I do not want to see you in blazer.  Other places that do no include business casual: Hmmm, the CLUB!  Let’s start a new trend fellas.

8.  Those SHINY ASS STRETCH PANTS. What is that shit, Lame’?  Those pants give me the willies and the chills.  Not to mention that I’m allergic to that material, and it blinds the shit out me.  And don’t let you be ill-built…**rolls eyes**

The idea of the ankle boot, or the bootie as it’s now called, was a bit of a lost cause until a few seasons ago.  At first they were a little hard to find, but now they are back with A VENGEANCE.  Suede, leather, cloth– you name it, they probably make a bootie in the color and material you like.  Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of the bootie on myself, but they always tend to look cute on cankleless women the right person, WITH the right outfit (emphasis on right outfit).  While hunting for some fab booties (that sounds weird) I came across some HOT THAAAAANGS!

Am I Too Deep? Naw, I’m 10.Deep… November 7, 2008

With the historical win of Barack H. Obama as the nation’s 44th President, I thought it would be fitting to discuss something I have a love for…Menswear!  Yes, I must admit as a lady, I have a penchant for men’s fashion.  So I would like to direct you all to 10.Deep’s Fall 2008 campaign and look-book…Delivery Dos.

About Delivery I:  Inspired by the current down turn in U.S. politics and the cautious optimism for the near future.  The lookbook, titled New World Order and shot in a Masonic Temple by photographer Brian Cleaver, played on the the suspicion of a secret government in line for world domniation.  It highlights the new Veni Vidi Vici, the Latin phrase uttered by Julius Caesar, “I came, I saw, I conquered“. The new collection will include a wide range addition of plaid button-up shirts, fleece sweatshirts, and outerwear composed of hi-tech fabrics.  Be on the look out for the new collection to drop at retailers near you on September 2nd.

About Delivery II:  It looks like our fear-mongering political pundits finally got something right: the good ol’ US of A is in dire straits. In celebration of our crumbling economy and rapidly deteriorating national infrastructure, the American public is busy stuffing their money into mattresses and loading their guns for a future that looks like the jacked plotline of a Mad Max prequel.

So…What is this Kunta Fly Shit you speak of? And who the hell are you? November 6, 2008

Great question!

Well, first off…I’m Kay Jay.  Kay Jay the hip-hop head.  If you are familiar with the great rapper by the name of Dennis Coles, or Ghostface Killah as he is affectionately called, you will remember a little song from his Pretty Toney Album entitled “Kunta Fly Shit.”  Personally, it has no real meaning to me, other than the fact that it’s a fly ass name for a song…so hell, I rolled with it.

To me, Kunta Fly Shit is that shit you need to be familiar with.  What shit?  Any shit…PERIOD.

I’m a bit of a renaissance woman:

1. Smart–Managed to go to college and law school all by the tender age of 26
2. Tough–Grew up hard, in the hood, and managed not to become a statistic…I’d say I’m proud of myself, and my momma would, too.
3.  Loves Fashion–Honey, I love everything from Carmen Marc Valvo dresses and Louis Vuitton bags to Supra sneaks and fitted caps…
4.  Loves Music (Obviously)–I’m probably the ONE woman you will ever meet who will know all the words to Young Dro’s “Tokyo Diamonds”, WuTang Clan’s “Triumph”, Stevie Wonder’s “As,” and Coldplay’s “Sparks.”
5.  A Comedian–Hey, a girl got jokes.  I mean, I won’t get up on stage and tell you jokes, but I may bust a funny here and there…
…and last but not least
6.  Sensitive–Yup, I got feelings and shit…

So you can expect this blog to touch on everything from the hottest sneaks, to that bomb new Black Milk Album I just copped.  It’ll get random…it’ll get not so random.  I’m known to be extra, so hell, it could get extra.  At the end of the day, you just won’t know WHAT to expect.  So hopefully that will keep you coming back.
